Birgir Thorsteinson and Margrét Böðvarsdóttir manage their horticultural facility at Brún. They moved into the newly built residence on International Women´s Day in 1970. The first greenhouse was 600 square meters and was constructed in 1973. Today they own and manage over 3.500 square meters of agricultural greenhouse.

To begin with, regular tomatoes were cultivated at Brún. In 1999 they added cherry tomatoes to their greenhouses, with all the tomatoes grown in pumice from the volcano Hekla.  The tomatoes are picked and packaged by hand, ensuring the superb quality and freshness of every fruit.
