Knútur Rafn Ármann and Helena Hermundardóttir are both from Reykjavík but moved to the countryside when they were 25 years old.  They bought Friðheimar at Reykholt in 1995, where they specialise in horticulture and raising Icelandic horses.

As well as producing the high quality produce, Knútur and Helena offer Icelandic horse shows and guided greenhouses visits at Friðheimar. The public can learn about how they too can cultivate throughout the year in Iceland and they benefits of organic farming.  An onsite restaurant is located inside one of the greenhouses, serving up deliciously creamy tomato soup and freshly baked bread, as well as other homemade delicacies.
