Þorleifur Jónsson and Sjöfn Sigurðardóttir refine their craft at Hverabakki in Flúðir in the wouth-west of Iceland. There they run a horticultural facility trading as Gróður EHF, cultivating a range of fresh vegetables including tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. They manage approximately 4.000 square metres of greenhouses, with some additional outdoor cultivation including crisp Chinese cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, celery and turnips, which are grown across 15 hectares of volcanic fields.

Horticulture has been practised at Hverabakki almost continually since 1944. Sjöfn’s father founded Gróður EHF and Þorleifur and Sjöfn took over the facilities from him.   Þorleifur and Sjöfn are also both qualified teachers and Sjöfn works as a teacher at the nearby Flúðir school.
